Made and Worn
We explore and investigate the myriad ways in which crafted, manufactured and worn artefacts operate as vehicles of meaning, telling stories of who we are as both individuals and as members of communities. The themes of craft and making with materials are infused with the actions of the body, in both the making and the wearing of artefacts themselves. Examined from a range of perspectives including fashion theory and design, technology, anthropology, literature, history and art, we aim to develop understanding of the significance of dress and how these collective stories are communicated through the ways in which we clothe, adorn and surround ourselves with meaningful objects.
